Review: Starblood by Carmilla Voiez

Review: Starblood by Carmilla Voiez.

Starblood is an extremely compelling start to a trilogy right off the bat. It has very unique elements and elements that aren’t necessarily unique but infrequently used that really lend themselves to amping this book up. It’s been a while since I’ve read something that was able to get under my skin and this book did it. First success in any type of horror novel in my eyes is when the reader is creeped out or uncomfortable (in a good way) while they’re reading. Otherwise there is no point to picking up a horror. Starblood navigated between the horror and the violence and the erotica meticulously. They were weighted evenly and transitioned well into seeming like a full blended novel and not just scenes tossed in for a plot device or reaction.”
